The Oregon Health Authority on Monday reported 220 new presumed and confirmed coronavirus cases and three new deaths connected to COVID-19. The numbers come as cases fell in Oregon for a fourth consecutive week. Gov. Kate Brown has said she expects to lift restrictions statewide in June so long as 70% of Oregonians 18 and older are at least partially vaccinated. On Thursday, Multnomah County moved from “high risk” to “lower risk”, allowing restaurants, bars and gyms to expand capacity. New coronavirus cases leaped in Washington in the week ending Sunday, rising 73% as 8,355 cases were reported. The previous week had 4,829 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19. Washington ranked first among the states where coronavirus was spreading the fastest on a per-person basis, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. In the latest week coronavirus cases in the United States decreased 20.4% from the week before, with 140,886 cases reported. With 2.29% of the country's population, Washington had 5.93% of the country's cases in the last week.
