After declining last week to release information about which cities or counties have had people infected, citing privacy laws, DPH reconsidered and provided The Atlanta Journal-Constitution with a list of counties. The AJC filed a request filed for the information under the state Open Records Act.
The department said the U.K. variant has been detected in residents of Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, DeKalb, Paulding, Cherokee, Carroll, Douglas and Clayton counties. In a press release Monday, DPH said there are now 19 cases in Georgia — eight males and 11 females, ranging in age from 15 to 61.
