Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead gets its first zombie-filled trailer – Polygon

Zack Snyder may have his own cut of Justice League on the way, but it’s not the only movie he’s got coming out this year. He’s also behind the new Netflix movie, Army of the Dead, which got its first zombie-filled trailer on Thursday morning.

Army of the Dead seems to start somewhere around the beginning of a fresh zombie apocalypse. But as the trailer shows us, this isn’t your typical story of survivors banding together to fight off the zombies and stay alive. Instead, the movie follows a team of mercenaries, led by Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Stuber) who are planning to pull off a massive heist in Las Vegas, with the zombies acting as the perfect cover. Of course, the trailer lets us know that this isn’t exactly the perfect crime, and things definitely go off the rails once the walking dead get involved.

This is Snyder’s first time returning to the zombie-apocalypse genre since his 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. It’s also Snyder’s first time making a streaming-exclusive movie — at least depending on how you categorize Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Army of the Dead hits Netflix on May 21.
