Walt Disney World Resort will be implementing a new policy in order to free up some Theme Park Reservations that may be held on Guests’ accounts without valid admission.

Although Park Passes must be reserved with a valid ticket, sometimes Guests may change the dates on their tickets but not the dates of their Park Pass reservations. Walt Disney World is attempting to curb the holding of Park Pass Reservations when they’re not connected to valid theme park admission, allowing more availability for other Guests.

Theme Park Reservation cancellation emails will be sent to Guests 48 hours prior to the day on which the Park Pass reservation isn’t connected to theme park admission. If the Guest does not cancel the reservation, it will be automatically canceled after those 48 hours have passed—midnight on the day of the reservation. In a similar manner, FastPass+ reservations were automatically canceled to prevent Guest abuse when canceling resort hotel stays in order to take advantage of the 60-day booking window.

Theme Park Reservations for Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been the hardest to come by thus far, with reservations fully booked through July 1st for Theme Park Ticket Guests and Resort Hotel Guests before being replenished shortly after. Hopefully, Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort will now have a better chance of obtaining the Theme Park Reservations they want thanks to the new policy.
