This is my new favorite thing in WWE – Cageside Seats

I far prefer when pro wrestling takes itself seriously, and those participating in it are less performers and more fighters battling it out in a fight to the death. I realize this is an archaic viewpoint and, because WWE is the preeminent promotion in the world, downright ridiculous of me to hold onto so dearly.

So I try to find little things to take joy in.

To that end, I’ve found my new favorite thing in all of WWE.

It started here:

And was solidified on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in this segment (I’m using this video because it includes the parts relevant to this article, which WWE and FOX cut out of their videos):

If you haven’t figured it out, it’s not the show itself but rather its host, Bayley, and her stubborn insistence that everyone who is a guest on it, even if they are interrupting, use the floating door set up in the ring to enter. I thought it was perhaps a bit for the debut episode a month back when she did it for Bianca Belair but when after she yelled at Reginald to use the door if he was going to interrupt and then called Sasha Banks an “idiot” while screaming at her to use the door that cemented it for me.

Sometimes it really is the little details that make segments like this memorable, at least for me.

Shout out to Bayley for making this so much more fun than it would have been otherwise.
