The ThunderDome Era is over – Cageside Seats

We made it, folks.

The ThunderDome era is over.

After nearly a full year stationed in Tampa, Florida, first at Tropicana Field and then at the Yuengling Center, WWE closed up its innovative digitized workspace with this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Bobby Lashley and MVP were the last two to work a segment in that setting, as they headlined the show with a closing angle that saw the WWE champion upset at the man who has been his de facto manager for many months now for making him too soft.

Or so he said.

It was an effective segment, because MVP did one hell of a job looking utterly devastated by Lashley’s words, ones he took straight out of Kofi Kingston’s mouth. That’s the same Kofi MVP spent weeks trying to get inside the head of to no avail.

Lashley ended with this:

This comes just six days before the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, where Lashley will defend the WWE championship against Kingston. It was an outstanding closing angle building to that match, one of the best on a go home show we’ve seen in recent memory.

See you Sunday night.
