The United States Postal Service and Lucasfilm will team up to release 10 new “Star Wars” character stamps to promote education.
- The new stamps — which will launch in the spring — are a part of Lucasfilm’s new commitment to science, technology, engineering and math projects.
What stamps are there?
Droids are the centerpiece for the new stamps. The available stamp options include:
- IG-11.
- R2-D2.
- K-2SO.
- D-O.
- L3-37.
- BB-8.
- C-3PO.
- A GNK (or Gonk) power droid.
- 2-1B surgical droid.
- C1-10P, commonly known as “Chopper.”

Why are they being released?
The “Star Wars” stamps are being released in collaboration with “Star Wars: Force for Change” — which promotes education among the “Star Wars” community — and the global nonprofit organization “FIRST” (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).
