Updated 9:40 p.m.: Revised to include information about a tornado in Tarrant County.
A tornado caused serious damage in parts of Tarrant County Saturday, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said.
The department said that a tornado caused several power lines and trees to fall down in the city of Briar, in the northern part of the county. There is a lot of property damage in the area, but no serious injuries or deaths, the department said in a tweet.
Avoid Briar area around FM 730 near Azle. A tornado has caused many downed power lines and trees. A lot of property damage in the area. No serious injuries or deaths reported at this time. Law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency crews are working the scene.

The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of North Texas earlier in the night.
The warning covered parts of Dallas and Tarrant counties, including the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington, and was in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.
