Selena Gomez showed fans her favorite products from her new Rare Beauty makeup line in a Vogue “Beauty Secrets” video tutorial, and she’s already worn one of them in a music video.
The video launched on the same day as her coveted makeup collection. And in the middle of taking viewers through her day-to-night makeup routine, she pulled out the one product they’ve famously seen her wear in the “Ice Cream” music video with her K-pop collaborators BLACKPINK.
“The lip soufflés are so yummy, they are so smooth,” the Selena + Chef star exclaimed in the video. “So normally I use my signature red. I’m showing you this other color because for BLACKPINK, in the music video we did, I got to use this.”
The 28-year-old singer discussed how makeup has been an art form embedded in her wide-ranging entertainment career, from music to fashion to television to movies.
“I think growing up, I for sure felt like makeup was a part of my world. And being in different facets of the industry, it’s been really fun to play with it because it makes a character when you’re on set,” Gomez said. “It creates something magical when you’re in music, you can create stories with it. And then for fashion, there are so many different ways that makeup gets expressed, even beyond what they’re wearing. It’s almost like it’s a part of it, it has to be a part of it.”
