Santa Barbara County is reporting the deaths of two more people who tested positive for COVID-19.
Both had underlying health conditions, according to health officials.
One of the patients was a child between the ages of 12 and 17-years-old who lived in Santa Maria. Health officials say this is the first pediatric death related to COVID-19 in Santa Barbara County.
The other patient was over the age of 70 and lived in Lompoc.
Santa Barbara County also added 186 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county’s total to 14,376 confirmed cases as of December 18.
Ninety people are currently hospitalized, including 24 patients who are in the ICU. Health officials say 13,131 people have recovered.
Santa Barbara County has had 147 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

- Unincorporated Goleta Valley and Gaviota – 402
- Santa Ynez Valley (Solvang, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Ballard) – 326
An additional 582 cases are listed as “pending” location.
Three free community coronavirus testing sites are open in Santa Maria, Buellton, and Goleta.
Additional testing will be available at the Public Health Testing Site in Santa Maria through Friday, Dec. 18.
