The 45-year-old reality star told Mellencamp, 40, that she is ‘trying to put one foot in front of the other’ since the scary incident.
She also admitted that in the wake of the robbery she had been struggling with panic attacks even as she returned to filming RHOBH.

The star gave more details about how physical the intruders got with her after she awoke to them standing at the head of her bed.
‘First of all, I was completely taken off guard,’ she explained. ‘They were surprised to see me at home… When they did, they pushed me to the ground.’
The men then asked her who else was with her in the house as her son Jagger, seven, and daughter Phoenix, five, slept on, totally unaware of what was going on.
According to Dorit, one of the men suggested just killing her to tie up loose ends.
Suspect: Police have released a sketch of one of the robbers. Since the break in, Dorit speculated that she might have been targeted because of her lavish social media posts. ‘There was someone else who said, “Just kill her, just kill her already, just kill her,” and all I could think of, “I have to save those babies.” I begged them, I begged for my life, and begged for their life,’ she said.
She urged the men holding her at gunpoint to take whatever they wanted in exchange for leaving her family unharmed.
‘I said, “I don’t care about any of it, take it all. You can have it all. Please, I’m a mother of babies. Please, they need me. Please don’t hurt me,”‘ she recounted.

Dorit added that she tried to keep her cool to prevent the robbers from losing theirs.
‘I stayed very calm because I knew they were very panicked and if I didn’t, the situation could have gone a lot worse.’
She added: ‘I fought for mine and my kids’ lives, and I got lucky… My kids didn’t wake up and they don’t know anything about it.’
Although Dorit and her young children escaped the worst possible outcome, she said she’s still dealing with the psychological scars of the home invasion.
‘The panic attacks are coming…’ she said as she wondered how she could move on from her trauma.

Desperation: ‘I begged them, I begged for my life, and begged for their life,’ she said
Making a getaway: The robbers carried the valuables out wrapped in bedding and met with a third man before driving away in a black four-door pickup truck
‘And feeling safe? How am I ever going to feel safe again? How do I protect my children?… I’m going through all of that,’ she explained.
Dorit has been back with the cast and crew of RHOBH in recent days, and Teddi asked her how supportive the rest of the cast had been since her return.
‘Beyond supportive… They’re with me tracking this process, and it’s going to be a process, a long one — that, I know,’ she said.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department released security footage taken from Dorit’s home showing robbers breaking a glass door to enter her home just before 11pm on October 27.
The men were seen again leaving the home after about 20 minutes, while carrying their loot wrapped in bedding.
Dorit had only just returned home from her nephew’s wedding in London, and she was alone with the two children while her husband, PK Kemsley, was still traveling abroad.
Only two men were seen on camera breaking into her home, but they met up with a third man after leaving and drove away in a black four-door pickup truck.
During the ordeal, the robbers reportedly didn’t enter the children’s bedrooms.
Since the break in, Dorit has speculated that she might have been targeted because of her social media posts, which regularly highlight her lavish lifestyle.
