Oregon reaches new 2nd highest daily count of new coronavirus cases, 277, surpasses 8,000 total – OregonLive

The number of coronavirus cases in Oregon reached a new second-highest daily number Saturday with 277 cases, just one day after it was set at 250. Another death from coronavirus has been reported, as well. Multnomah County saw the highest increase of any county with 59 cases. Umatilla County had the second-highest increase with 56. Washington County had the third-highest with 44. The Oregon Health Authority reported the new cases Saturday, one case shy of the daily record, while eclipsing 8,000 total cases across the state. Officials did not list a reason for the large increase in cases for either Friday or Saturday, but cases have been increasing for a month. Public health experts have said the increase is a result of Oregon’s reopening, which began in most counties on May 15, and Ore...

And now that the country is reopening stores, restaurants and businesse...

Tokyo Disneyland Releases Statement on Possible Splash Mountain Retheming – wdwnt.com

On June 25th, Disney announced that Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom and in Disneyland would be receiving a retheme to Princess and the Frog. Movie Fans Share Their Theater Memories – ComicBook.com

Movie fans are going through summer movie withdrawal. The coronavirus pandemic forced movie theaters to close and studios to delay this year’s crop of blockbusters. For a time, some held out hope that summer movie season would be delayed but not canceled, but recent surges in COVID-19 cases have dashed those hopes. Theaters will remain closed in most areas, and films are suffering additional delays. Chains and studios continue to hatch plans to draw audiences back into movie theaters when they reopen, including sending popular movies back to the big screen. Despite all of this, at least half of theatergoers say they’ll avoid going to see a film even once theaters are open again. Movie fans have had to find their entertainment elsewhere -- thank goodness for streaming services -- but fo...

Vanderpump Rules Star Jax Taylor Reunites With Brittany Cartwright In Kentucky – The Blast

To "Vanderpump Rules" fans' surprise, Jax Taylor didn't hop on the plane with his wife. Instead, he stayed behind at their home in Los Angeles and partied with his disgraced former co-star, and ex-girlfriend, Stassi Schroeder for her 32nd birthday. Jax was seen arriving to the pregnant birthday girl's party, held at Katie Maloney's home, on a golf cart earlier this week. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright bought a home down the street from Maloney and her husband, Tom Schwartz.

Amazons The Boys returns September 4th with weekly episode releases – Engadget

One of Amazon’s tentpole Prime Video shows is finally close to resuming — though you’ll have to be patient if you want to see all of it. The service has revealed that the second season of The Boys will premiere on September 4th, but only the first three episodes. The remaining five will arrive weekly. The show creators want viewers to “absorb” what happens in the story, executive producer Eric Kripke said in a livestream (below). Of course, this also makes it difficult to rush through the show on a free trial — something Disney+ was keenly aware of when it strung out The Mandalorian (and later ended free trials altogether). As for what happens in season 2? The stream included the first three minutes of the first episode, so steer clear after the init...

How coronavirus spread from East Lansing bar to the Grosse Pointes – Detroit Free Press

All it took was one packed bar. An infected patron. And a wild party afterward. This is the toxic combination that has led to a new wave of COVID-19 cases in the Grosse Pointe community, where at least 30 new cases in recent days have been tied to an outbreak at a popular East Lansing bar almost 100 miles away. Harper's Restaurant & Brew Pub saw shoulder-to-shoulder crowds after reopening earlier this month, including some college students from the affluent Grosse Pointes who unknowingly got infected and brought the virus back home. According to multiple families who are now in quarantine, one of those students who visited Harper's came into contact with a friend who held a huge house party in Grosse Pointe Woods, where dozens of friends partied without masks and social distancing,...
