THEY’RE FULLY VACCINATED WHICH ONLY MAKES UP CLOSE TO 14% OF THE STATE POPULATION. ALSO 18% OF ADULTS IN OKLAHOMA ARE FULLY VACCINATED. The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 959 new COVID-19 cases across the state since Friday, March 19, bringing the total cumulative number of the state’s positive cases to 435,450.According to the health department, 380 is Monday’s 7-day rolling average for the number of new cases reported.Monday’s total provisional death count, according to the CDC/NCHS, stands at 7,704; that’s 31 more compare to Friday’s update. The health department announced that they are changing the way they report COVID-19 deaths in an effort to show a “more timely” picture of the disease’s impact in Oklahoma. Moving forward, OSDH officials said they will include the provisional death count provided by CDC/NCHS in the daily updates.According to the CDC, provisional death counts deliver the most complete and accurate picture of lives lost to COVID-19. They are based on death certificates, which are the most reliable source of data and contain information not available anywhere else, including comorbid conditions, race and ethnicity and place of death. Officials said there have been 24,936 total hospitalizations, and that 254 people are currently hospitalized. By Oklahoma health officials’ definition, a recovered patient is currently not hospitalized or deceased and it has been 14 days after onset/report.
