The Iowa DPH reported no additional COVID-19 deaths, keeping the statewide death toll at 3,589.Of Iowa’s pandemic-related deaths, COVID-19 is reported as the underlying cause for 3,295 deaths. For 294 Iowans, COVID-19 was a contributing factor to their deaths.The website said 3,299 of the state’s deaths involved Iowans with preexisting conditions.The Iowa DPH reports 141 COVID-19 outbreaks among long-term care facilities in the state, accounting for 5,715 of Iowa’s total positive cases. COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities account for 1,135 of the state’s total deaths. Iowa DPH reports 644 hospitalizations, of which 142 patients are in intensive care units. Iowa hospitals admitted 70 patients in the last 24 hours, compared to 93 hospitalizations the day before. Of Iowa’s 99 counties, 39 report 14-day positivity rates at or above 15%.
