However Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, failed to make the list at all. The conclusions were released by online fashion platform Lyst at part of its Year In Fashion Report.
It was based on a study of searches made by over 100 million shoppers worldwide.
Using the data Lyst selected what it argued were the 12 most iconic fashion moments of the year.
They included the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepping down from front line royal duties at the end of March and Princess Beatrice getting married in July.
Meghan and Harry shocked the world in January when they announced their intention to step down as senior members of the Royal Family.

Instead the couple vowed to become “financially independent” and said they would divide their time between North America and the UK.
However a number of the outfits Meghan wore to her final royal engagements in March became fashion sensations.
On March 5 the Duchess wore a striking blue Victoria Beckham dress to the Endeavor Awards at London’s Mansion House.
The event celebrated serving and former members of the armed forces who used sport to recover from injury or adjust to post-military life.

Following the awards there was a 137 percent increase in searches for the designer in question.
Two days she was pictured wearing a stunning red dress from the same brand.
According to Lyst this caused searches for ‘Safiyaa’ to jump by 227 percent.
Harry and Meghan completed their final royal engagement on March 9 when they attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.

Each year the Commonwealth is celebrated with a service at Westminster Abbey
The annual event, which is attended by senior royals including The Queen, is held to celebrate the global role played by the Commonwealth.
For the occasion Meghan wore a splendid green dress from designer Emilia Wickstead.
Searches for the designer rocketed by 286 percent in the aftermath of the event.
The other royal who provided one of the top fashion moments of 2020 was Beatrice, as a result of her wedding on July 17 to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The occasion, which had already been delayed by the coronavirus, took place in Windsor in front of a small group of guests.
Those in attendance included the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.
After the service a reception was held in the Buckingham Garden grounds.

Beatrice wore a vintage wedding dress for the occasion which was borrowed from The Queen.
Over the next 48 hours Lyst reports searches for “vintage wedding dress” went up by 297 percent.
Beatrice later described the day as “so much fun”.
