Massachusetts woman wins vacation to New Hampshire on The Price is Right – New York Post

The price was right, but the prize was just a little too close to home.

A Massachusetts woman had the thrill of a lifetime when she won a vacation on “The Price is Right” — except it was a five-day trip to neighboring New Hampshire.

The real kicker? Her flight to the Granite State is from Los Angeles, where the game show is taped.

Catherine Graham recently flew out to California and attended a taping of the popular game show, hosted by comedian Drew Carey, in episode that aired on Feb. 1.

After correctly guessing a winning bid, she joined Carey on the stage for the chance to win a major prize in the game “Side by Side,” when she learned that the prize was a vacation to a state she’s visited “a million times.”

“My face says it all. I said ‘Oh you’re kidding.’ Drew goes ‘Oh that’s great. Congratulations, New Hampshire is beautiful!’ I go ‘Drew, I live in Boston!’” Graham told WBZ-TV.

She won the trip after correctly guessing the value of the prize was $7,696 instead of $9,676. The prize includes a five-night stay at The Hotel Concord, with daily breakfast and one dinner, and $80 in additional food spending.

Despite winning a vacation to a city that’s about an hour’s drive from Boston, Graham appeared exhilarated when she won, cheering and jumping up and down.

“I just wish it was Tahiti or some place, or Bora Bora. A cruise around the world maybe,” she said, adding that the prize didn’t change how she felt about her TV experience. “It was so fun.”

Instead of a 30-minute drive, Graham will have to fly cross country twice if she wants to cash in her roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Manchester.
