Majority of people sickened by latest Listeria outbreak are from Mass., CDC says

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning of a multi-state Listeria outbreak that is linked to deli meat, and the majority of those sickened are from Massachusetts.Of the 10 people who have fallen ill to Listeria, seven of them are Massachusetts residents, according to the CDC.Two people from New York were also sickened in connection with the outbreak, while a Florida resident has died of Listeria.The CDC says nine of the 10 people reported that they had eaten prepackaged or sliced Italian-style deli meats, such as salami, mortadella and prosciutto before getting sick.A specific type of deli meat that led to the outbreak has not yet been identified, nor has a common supplier of the deli meat.
