Kristin Cavallari’s former friend Shannon Ford has revealed exactly how she was fired from the reality TV show Very Cavallari.
On Tuesday she shared her story in great detail on Dear Media’s Not Skinny But Not Fat, leaving little out. The reality TV villain on the E! show said she went from being under Kristin’s wing to being frozen out, adding she has not talked to the blonde bombshell since she left the set of the now canceled show.
And 27-year-old influencer also touched on that boozy video with Kristin’s estranged husband Jay Cutler.
Dishing doll: Kristin Cavallari’s former friend Shannon Ford has revealed exactly how she was fired from the reality TV show Very Cavallari. On Tuesday the 27-year-old influencer shared her story in great detail on Dear Media’s Not Skinny But Not Fat , leaving little out
In November, Jay posted a video with Ford in Charleston. It was shared only seven months after he split from Kristin.
But Ford said that did not hit the bar to meet Jay, but rather her agent. ‘People don’t realize this, I was with my mom and my grandma,’ she said of being with Jay in a video.
‘That video didn’t show my mom and my grandma were there. That’s how not spicy it was.’
She ‘doesn’t know the reasons’ Cutler posted the clip.
She added, ‘I didn’t post it. I didn’t look thirsty. When I got there, I put my phone very far away because I thought they might think like, “Oh Shannon will love this. She’ll love nothing more than attention and I wanted to be like, the cool girl that genuinely was enjoying a drink with her friend and Jay.”‘
Ouch: The reality TV villain on the E! show said she went from being under Kristin’s wing to being frozen out, adding she has not talked to the blonde bombshell since she left the set of the now canceled show. Kristin in November
Ford – who was the social media director of Uncommon James – also said she was very close to Jay and Kristin outside of working.
‘The brand originally started in her home [in 2017], like, we were in her living room everyday working. I don’t know anything about like them together, but I only just viewed them as parents.’
She added: ‘There are three small children who have parents that are divorcing and that’s sad. I just genuinely mean that. That was, like, actually my thoughts on it. I’m sad — not sad if they don’t want to be together, then I’m happy that they’re figuring that out separately. But I’m sad that it’s very public and that they have children.’
And after she was fired, Ford said Cavallari told her she could not post to Instagram about certain brands.
‘I was 23 and needed the money,’ said Ford, who is now 27. She added that Kristin and Jay Cutler were already millionaires so she didn’t think they should prohibit her from making money.
Ford said Cavallari allegedly claimed the brand deals were a ‘direct violation’ of their non-compete agreement, and Shannon gave Kristin her lawyer’s number.
Not flirting: She even mentioned Kristin’s estranged husband Jay Cutler whom Ford was accused of flirting with. In November, Jay posted a video with Ford in Charleston. But Ford said that did not hit the bar to meet Jay, but rather her agent. ‘People don’t realize this, I was with my mom and my grandma,’ she said of being with Jay in a video
Ford said she has not watched Very Cavallari since she was kicked off.
‘I got like really obsessive, really obsessive over being like, who’s going to be the next breakout star,’ she said. ‘Who’s going to get the most popular or the girls that are still on it. Gonna get more followers than me. Like I was like, I was at a point in my life where my friends were like, Hey. Yes, stop that.’
Ford started at the beginning, saying she said she joined the show for income.
‘How I got famous always was like, I want to be famous so bad because I wanted to be, I want to have money. I was like, my name is to have money,’ said Ford.
‘So I was like, whatever it takes. So I always would, it would have been preferred to do it the classy way, but by the end of it, I’m like I’m 23. This reality show is kind of like. Happening. I already had like 40,000 followers on Instagram or really? No, I wasn’t doing swipe ups. I wasn’t posting, I didn’t understand rewards doll.
‘I was not making a penny, not a literal single penny from Instagram, but I had 40,000 followers.
They were a power couple: Kristin and Jay seem in 2015; they split in 2020
‘But usually when I post a provocative photo, I’ll put like a funny caption with it. So they were just like posting that anyways. I randomly had followers. I didn’t understand social media. I just knew that I liked, I liked social media. So like when it came about that I had this job in real life for social media, for Kristin.’
And then it made sense on the show.
‘I was like, this could be cool. And then very clearly I was a part of the pilot. And we were told straight up, like this show is not picked up yet. He is paying for the pilot. So whether or not he decides to pick it up or not is dependent on you guys making a good pilot.’
Ford wanted to make it a good pilot.
‘Everyone was like, I don’t know. I’m worried about my reputation. I was like, you’re doing reality TV. You’re not that f***ing stressed about your reputation. Like, let’s get real. So I was very willing to be like the villain, because I was like, I just want the show to get picked up.’
The show is over: And after she was fired, Ford said Cavallari told her she could not post to Instagram about certain brands. ‘I was 23 and needed the money,’ said Ford, who is now 27. She added that Kristin and Jay Cutler were already millionaires so she didn’t think they should prohibit her from making money
It changed her.
‘There were some things I said that I would have never said to someone’s face, but I probably would have said behind their back, but like, I totally would have said that, but I was like, all right, you got to f***ing say to their face on camera, if you want this to get picked up.’
And she added Kristin was a good friend.
‘Like you can tell, but the whole point of that is to say that Kristen was actually very kind to me,’ she said.
‘Like she called me and was like, Hey, are you okay? I just want to check on you. Like this sh*t gets weird. I remember from, I looked at a beach days. I was the villain. Like, it’ll get better. Like just, just ride the wave. I promise it’ll work out for you. She said, I’ve had my days of reality, TV, drama, like reality TV, drama. I’ve done it all.
‘I’ve been there. I’ve done it. I don’t want it anymore. I want it to be y’all’s drama and Al like pop in.’
Power struggle? As far as her allegedly flirting with Jay, Ford said she would find it very hard to believe that Kristin would be jealous of her. ‘I think she was just, I think she was not expecting me to just completely like, be so cool with it. Like, I was like, this is now my role and I’m killing it in this’
As far as her allegedly flirting with Jay, Ford said she would find it very hard to believe that Kristin would be jealous of her.
‘I think she was just, I think she was not expecting me to just completely like, be so cool with it. Like, I was like, this is now my role and I’m killing it in this.
‘Like, she would say random stuff. Like, I don’t want you to post that, like stop tagging me. And she would be like, stop tagging me in your recaps and I’d be like, what? Like it got weird.’
Then Ford was frozen out.
‘She stopped texting me and she started emailing me. And I was like, this feels like a paper trail,’ she said. ‘What the f**k? I was like, I don’t know. It just, it’s getting weird. And then like, it was just very odd.’
Host Amanda Hirsch said, ‘All of a sudden, she went from being super nice to you and like here’s your stage to being weird.
Ford added, ‘I really don’t think I want to use the word jealous. I think she was just like bothered that I was so. I felt so at home. She was my mentor for so long. I mean like literally like a big sister to me, like helping me through everything. I think a lot of people, a lot of my friends, like a lot of people would be like, girl, she was so jealous of you. And I’m like, no, I don’t think she was jealous of me.
The loss of a big sister: Ford added, ‘I really don’t think I want to use the word jealous. I think she was just like bothered that I was so. I felt so at home. She was my mentor for so long. I mean like literally like a big sister to me, like helping me through everything’; seen in 2017
‘I think she was just like, know your f***ing place bitch. And I think I was like, I know my f***ing place. And I think that we have very similar personalities.’
There was a chance she maybe was too good on the show.
‘I was very good at my job… Like I knew I was good at it, but it was like a, it was like college all over for me where like every report card I’ve received since I was in fourth grade is like, she has so much potential, but she just won’t apply herself.
‘So like, as soon as Kristen would light a fire under my a**, I’d be like, look at all this stuff I can do. And she’d be like, damn wait. That’s fantastic. And then I’d be like, okay, cool. She’s Gucci for a second. And then I would like. Go off. And I was 22. Like I, when I worked for always, literally 22 and when the show aired, I was 23, like I would just like go off and like get drunk with my friends and she’d be like, you didn’t post this and I’d be like, Oh, here’s 18 other important, like better ideas.
‘And she’s be like, Those are good ideas, but you got to start posting more.’
She worked hard: ‘I was very good at my job… Like I knew I was good at it, but it was like a, it was like college all over for me where like every report card I’ve received since I was in fourth grade is like, she has so much potential, but she just won’t apply herself,’ said Ford; seen in 2019
Hirsch then asked Ford why she got kicked off.
‘I got fired in real life. That happened to be like filmed for the TV show, which I knew I was going to get fired from,’ she said.
Ford said she heard during a workout class from a friend of a friend that she was ‘not going to be around much longer.’
And she felt it was coming.
‘Kristin had already messaged me like the day before and been like, Hey girl, I’d love to have you come in and just have a catch-up cameras are going to be there, but we’re just catching up about stuff,’ she said.
She has moved on: Since her split from Jay, Kristin has been posting sexy bikini photos
‘And I wrote back like, is everything okay? And she was like, She was like, yeah, girl, we just, I know, you know, this, like you’ve been slacking a little bit. We’re just going to have a couple of real conversations. But at the end of the day, like, yeah, girl, you’re good. And I was like, okay. And then that girl told me that and I was like, Hmm.’
Ford called Kristin to catch her off guard.
‘So she couldn’t like lie or make something up. Just call her and ask her, like, are you firing me?’ said Shannon.
‘I literally said. If you’re going to fire me, I, I swear I will cry. I will throw something because me here for the television, I was like, I will do whatever you want me to do. Just like tell me straight up. You’re going to fire me. So I know because as a friend, I feel like you owe that to me. She was like, Hey, wait. Uh, okay, hold on. Wait girl. Sorry. Hold on.’
It took a while to sink in.
New love? And Kristin has reportedly been dating comedian Jeff Dye; seen in 2018
‘I’m like, great, no more work for me. Fantastic… I got fired on Wednesday. She’s like, let’s get coffee on Thursday, regardless of what happens tomorrow. Let’s just get coffee and talk… And I respected that cause I was like, She’s going to tell me that even though I’m fired, I’m still on the show. And I was like, cool with that. And then I got fired. And I think in a manner that she wasn’t expecting, because in every other aspect of the show and then like in this aspect, I was so mad that I just like stone cold Austin, her a** and was just like, yeah, this needed to happen for a long time. And she was like, Oh, this needed to happen a long time ago. And I was like, I completely agree. I couldn’t agree more. And she’s like, yeah, Yeah, couldn’t agree more.
‘And I was like, all right, well, peace and blessings. And then I like walked out and then I’m here to tell you, I never heard from her on Thursday for coffee. And the producers were like, you should call her and ask if she’ll go to coffee with you. And I was like, I’m not doing that. And they were like, no, you should.
She ended with: ‘And I was like, no, if she wants to get coffee with me, she’ll call me. And she never did. And I’ve literally never said one syllable to her since then. Like I’ve never seen her in person. I’ve never seen her again. I think I saw her at lunch. One time she was having lunch, like a couple of tables over. I never, never talked to her again.’
