Kelly Clarkson’s $200,000-per-month payments to Brandon Blackstock are reportedly only a short term form of support until their divorce is finalized.
It was reported this week that Kelly, 39, had been ordered by a judge in her divorce case to pay her ex-husband Brandon $150,000 per month in spousal support, as well as a further $45,601 in child support for their two children: River, six, and Remington, four.
But according to People magazine, that amount is not forever and could be slashed once the divorce proceedings are completed.
Only temporary: Kelly Clarkson, 39, is paying around $200K to her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, 44, but a source tells People the payments will likely be changed once the divorce is finalized
A source told the publication: ‘[The payments are] strictly temporary support until a final settlement is worked out.’
Through the arrangement, Brandon, a music manager, will receive $195,601 in total from Kelly each month, which comes out to roughly $2.4 million per year.
In addition to the spousal support, Kelly is on the hook for child support payments.
‘[Kelly will also] pay child support to [Brandon] for the benefit of the minor children, River Rose Blackstock, born June 12, 2014, and Remington Alexander Blackstock, born April 12, 2016, in the amount of $45,601 per month,’ the documents state.

Court filings obtained by The Blast also revealed Brandon has decided to leave his career as a manager in the entertainment business and is deciding to pursue work as a rancher.
Brandon, 44, ‘made a very deliberate choice to change his life and become a rancher full-time,’ and his career aspirations include sponsoring rodeos and working the ranch.
Although the American Idol winner’s payments to her ex might seem extreme, they’re only a fraction of her income, as it was revealed in the same documents that she earns over $1.5 million per month.

The former couple are currently in the process of selling the Encinco home for around $9 million, while the Tennessee mansion has been listed for $6.95 million.
Meanwhile, Kelly filed court documents earlier this month to ask a judge to declare her legally single following her split from Brandon.
