John Mulaney is a huge star in stand-up who just hosted Saturday Night Live two weeks ago, released a Netflix special variety show last year featuring some huge names, and has a deal with Comedy Central to create new Sack Lunch Bunch specials. It was announced today that he’s got a new job—he’s joining Late Night With Seth Meyers as a staff writer, Variety reports.
The show’s executive producer Mike Shoemaker confirmed the news and shared the below new sketch where he talks about ghosts’ role in politics. “John Mulaney likes to work so this week he officially joined Late Night With Seth Meyers as a staff writer,” he tweeted. “I hope he stays for 100 years but I will settle for ‘as long as John wants.’”
Mulaney and Meyers have worked together multiple times, including when Mulaney was a staff writer on Saturday Night Live. They also notably worked together on Documentary Now!’s “Co-Op the Musical” episode.
