KCCI provides a daily snapshot of the past 24 hours of statistics.As of 10 a.m. Friday, the Iowa DPH reported 77 additional COVID-19 deaths for a statewide death toll of 3,197. Of Iowa’s pandemic-related deaths, COVID-19 is reported as the underlying cause for 2,930 deaths. For 267 Iowans, COVID-19 was a contributing factor to their deaths.The website said 2,932 of the state’s deaths involved Iowans with preexisting conditions.The Iowa DPH website reports 253,085 confirmed cases statewide since Iowa’s outbreak began, with an additional 2,057 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. The Iowa DPH reports 141 COVID-19 outbreaks among long-term care facilities in the state, accounting for 5,595 of Iowa’s total positive cases. COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities account for 1,129 of the state’s total deaths. Iowa DPH reports 833 hospitalizations, of which 175 patients are in intensive care units. Iowa hospitals admitted 128 patients in the last 24 hours, compared to 124 hospitalizations the day before. Of Iowa’s 99 counties, 66 report 14-day positivity rates above 15%. Two Iowa counties report a 14-day positivity rate below 10%.According to the state’s website, a total of 1,273,664 Iowans received COVID-19 tests. Iowa’s average reported positivity rate is 15.8% over the last 14 days.Of the state’s confirmed cases, 183,213 Iowans recovered.
