COVID-19 hospitalizations are at their lowest level in Iowa since April 2, 2020. The Iowa Department of Public Health on Monday reported 42 new positive COVID-19 tests and no additional deaths.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 401,821 total positive tests, 360,285 total recoveries and 6,055 total deaths since the pandemic began. Twenty-four hours earlier, the health department reported 401,779 total positive tests and 6,055 total deaths.State data shows 1,358,425 people have completed a vaccine series in Iowa, while 2,768,764 total doses have been administered. There have been 5,049,625 COVID-19 tests administered in Iowa.There are currently 95 Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 104 the day before and the lowest number reported since April 2, 2020. The state started reporting hospitalization figures on March 30, 2020. The highest number of hospitalizations reported was 1,527 on Nov. 17, 2020. Currently, there are 22 patients in ICU and 10 patients on ventilators.Three long-term care facilities report 24 positive cases and eight recoveries among residents and staff in Iowa.
