Country newcomer Ingrid Andress captivated viewers with her moving performance of her breakout single “More Hearts Than Mine” at the 2020 CMA Awards Wednesday night (Nov. 11).
With an orchestra in tow, Andress’ melancholy record got the best of her, as she finished the song in tears. “Tell a lie and say he never really liked you/ Oh, if we break up I’ll be fine/ But you’ll be breaking more hearts than mine/You’ll be breaking more hearts than mine,” she sang at the end of the record.”
The 29-year-old singer notched two nominations for tonight’s festivities, including new artist of the year and song of the year. In an interview with Genius last March, Andress explained her family’s importance in dating.
