Dr. Patty Manning, Chief of Staff at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital said that will soon become the norm. “Some of the doctor’s offices in the adult practices have been trying,” she said.Manning said the vaccine is becoming more readily available and more primary practices are able to order supply. She also said any future booster shots may come from your primary care physician. DO I REALLY NEED THE VACCINE IF I’M LOW RISK?This one was submitted by several people. “If I’m at low risk of getting seriously sick from COVID, why do I need the vaccine?” Manning said she understands the hesitation, but tried to put it in perspective. “If everyone in your life is low risk, and you’re never around somebody who is elderly or vulnerable, then perhaps you could make that case,” she said.That said, Manning argued that’s likely not the case: there’s always someone in your life that might be high risk. She also offered these words of caution: “We’ve had low-risk people, children even who get very ill… it’s a very unpredictable virus it’s hard to know who will get very sick.”
