Emma Corrin, Gillian Anderson and Olivia Colman attend Emmy Awards screening in London – Daily Mail

The Crown cast showed their support for their hit series on the night of the Emmy Awards on both sides of the pond.

Gillian Anderson, Olivia Colman, Emma Corrin, and Emerald Fennell wowed at an Emmy Celebration at the Soho House in London on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Josh O’Connor represented the cast as he walked the Emmy awards red carpet.

Overall, the cast put on a showstopping display as they supported their hit Netflix show ahead of the epic event.

Emma, who plays Princess Diana, looked incredible in a sleeveless yellow dress with fingerless gloves and a matching head cap.

The gloves showed of Emma’s daring black claw manicure – and the overall look could be compared to the style seen in the dystopian television series The Handmaid’s Tale. 

Emma changed her pronouns earlier this year to she/they on her Instagram bio earlier this year, and in April appeared to announce that she is ‘queer.’

Emma shared a picture to Instagram from their new spread in Pop magazine where they were clad in a wedding dress and veil.

She simply captioned the image: ‘ur fave queer bride’.

Emma was just one of several Crown cast members wowing on the red carpet.

Gillian, who plays the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, flashed her abs in a white fringe crop top and matching maxi skirt. 

The star captivated with her glossy blonde hair tumbling down in romantic waves.

Olivia, who plays Queen Elizabeth II, looked splendid in a navy blue and bright orange gown with cape.

She rocked a pair of strappy heels and a chic bun.

Emerald put on a head-turning display in a glittering sheer dress decorated with lilac hearts, shimmering florals, and lime green sleeves and skirt.

The actress, who plays Camila Parker Bowles, slicked her hair up into a chic top knot with a bold red lip.

Meanwhile, Josh was dressed by Loewe as he hit the red carpet with a big black flower rather than a tie.

Asked about working on the show, he told E! it was ‘the most dreamy job imaginable, incredible cast. We had the time of our lives.’

Speaking about returning to the red carpet, Josh, who also attended the Met Gala last week, replied: ‘It’s really special. It’s so nice to be with other people in our industry. Nice to be reunited with everyone.’

Catherine Zeta-Jones was also among those who graced the red carpet.

She oozed elegance in a stunning strapless crimson dress that encompassed a large slit and a gorgeous flowy element that traced along the floor.

The Welsh actress arrived with husband Michael Douglas, who was suited and booted for the big night. 

Award-winning actress Kate Winslet didn’t hold back from waving to the cameras as she arrived for the prestigious event. 

The Reading native worked a number of poses as she stunned in a black gown. 

Kate has been recognised for her lead actress role in Mare of Easttown at this year’s Emmy Awards. 

It was no surprise that Star Trek icon Patrick Stewart cut a debonair style for the evening as he stopped for photos alongside his wife Sunny Ozell. 

Patrick finalised his smart attire with a bow-tie and wore his signature specs. 

His wife, who is 39 years his junior, looked glowing in her Emmys attire and added a loose curl to her tresses.

Another Brit who didn’t hold back from making a grand entrance was Anya Taylor-Joy.

The accoladed actress-and-model looked simply stunning in a satin gown that was complemented by a bright appendage that sat on the floor. 

Her hair coiffed into an intricate up-do, Anna also completed her look with a slick of red lipstick.  

The 2021 Emmy Awards took place on Sunday evening at L.A. Live’s Event Deck, a space that offered indoor and outdoor locations for the big event. 

The host was Cedric The Entertainer, 57, who promised to make the show more ‘fun’ and less ‘stuffy,’ he said during a press gather in Los Angeles this week.

The Television Academy announced that the September 19 ceremony would once again be slightly different this year, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 73rd annual awards show that celebrates the best of television had a ‘limited’ number of guests (about 500) and nominees on the red carpet as well as event staff.

And attendees had to show proof of vaccination and a negative test result.  

The Academy said in a statement: ‘Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of Emmy nominees, guests and media, the number of production personnel and staff must be limited at this year’s 73rd Emmy Awards.’

They added that there will be a ‘very limited red carpet for talent arrivals’, and a virtual media centre to ‘allow media outlets to connect directly with Emmy winners as they are announced.’

The show also included several satellite events that the telecast will cut to when needed.  

Top Chef and Jimmy Kimmel Live also video conferenced in.  

Celebrity guests were expected to include nominees Kaley Cuoco, who was nominated for The Flight Attendant, Jean Smart who won a nod for her role as a stand-up comedienne in Hacks and Allison Janney, who was singled out for her turn in Mom.

Some of the presenters were Michael Douglas, Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Paulson, Beanie Feldstein, Seth Rogen, Mindy Kaling, Dolly Parton and actress Awkwafina.

Jennifer Aniston already said that she would not be attending the event as she wanted to be as cautious as she can during the pandemic.

The Crown and The Mandalorian led the 2021 Emmys nominations, with 24 each.

The Netflix series, based on the British royal family, and Disney Plus’ Star Wars spin-off racked up the impressive number of nods to bring Netflix’s total to 129 with Disney Plus clocking up 71 nominations.

Marvel and Disney Plus’ WandaVision followed with 23 nominations, while Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale received 21.

The Crown co-stars Olivia and Emma competed in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. 

Josh was up for Lead Actor in a Drama Series, for his portrayal of Prince Charles.

He competed with fellow British actor Rege-Jean Page, for his performance as the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton.

And Bridgerton and The Crown were up for Drama Series, alongside The Boys, The Handmaid’s Tale, This Is Us, Pose, The Mandalorian and Lovecraft Country.

Mj Rodriguez made history as the first transgender performer to pick up an Emmy nomination in a major acting category.

The 30-year-old star was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Pose. 

The nomination came after the Television Academy’s Board of Governors announced that a nominee or winner of any acting category can request they be referred to as ‘Performer’ on their nomination certificate and Emmy statue, although the categories themselves relating to Actor and Actress won’t change.
