Today we’ll be making an easy hamburger quiche that’s rich, decadent and familiarly comforting with ground beef and cheddar cheese nestled in a flaky, crumbly pie crust. This is really quick to put together and uses frozen pie crusts for a fuss free breakfast, brunch or weekend meal.

Since frozen pie crusts typically come in packs of twos, we’ll be making two quiches in the time it takes to make one, so there’s plenty of leftovers to go around. They also heat up well, so win-win! If you’re handy with some dough, feel free to make your own pie crust. Otherwise, let’s keep it simple! So let’s get started.

EASY HAMBURGER QUICHE TIPS AND TRICKS

Pie crusts: I used frozen but you can also make it from scratch if you have a recipe.

Add some greens: I sometimes add 10 oz. of frozen chopped spinach. Cook it according to package directions and strain it fully of it’s water content so it doesn’t dilute the quiche filling.

Add more meat: Dress the flavor up with some cooked and crumbled bacon.

Salt and pepper: There’s no need to add salt and pepper to the filling because you get plenty of flavoring from the mayonnaise and more than enough saltiness from the cheddar cheese.

Nutmeg: Nutmeg is a fantastic way to enhance the beef flavor in the quiche. A little goes a long way so a few dashes is enough. I used ground nutmeg for the recipe.

It was stupidly easy, even for someone who doesn’t bake like me. Just brown the ground beef and onions, drain off the fat and mix it with the rest of the filling ingredients which is basically mayo, milk, eggs, a dash of nutmeg and cheese. That’s really all there is to it!

Feel free to experiment with other cheeses and see what fits best. Some cheeses that work well with quiches are white cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, mozzarella cheese and gruyere. Let me know how you changed it up if you did! That’s it, grab a slice and enjoy.
