Doctor Strange 2 Trailer Reveals Creepy New Wanda Maximoff Scenes (Video) – The Direct

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is only two weeks away, which may be hard for many to believe. After all, it feels like it’s been the topic of conversation forever. The project has seen its fair share of turmoil throughout that time, with the main bit being the departure of original Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson back in early 2020.

To replace him, Marvel Studios was able to bring aboard the famous Sam Raimi, who is renowned for his work on the first trio of Spider-Man films. With this change of leadership, many thought the creatives behind the project were going to be leaning away from the heavy horror elements that Derrickson wanted to embrace.

Thankfully, this doesn’t seem to be the case. One has to remember how Sam Raimi’s filmmaking roots lie in horror as well, leaving him just as versed in that genre as he is with superheroes.

Now a new TV spot has given fans their best look yet at how scary the adventure might be getting.

Scariest Promo Yet Release

A new promotional spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been released, which showcases several new snippets of footage, and features a heavy horror vibe throughout.

The video, which can be seen embedded at the bottom of the section, is sadly not available in high quality yet.

The first new bit that fans will notice is the piano next to Doctor Strange.

It seems like it’s taking place in one of the nightmares the character mentioned in his voiceover in the main trailer.

The notes on the paper start to light up, in what looks like it could be Wanda’s chaos magic.

Then Wanda can be seen potentially having nightmares of her own.

Perhaps the former Avenger is dreaming about the life she could have had? Or maybe she’s literally visiting that alternate life in another timeline.

While the shadow in the back could be her own, something seems off about it—could it be something far more nefarious?

The Horrifying Side of Doctor Strange

While the upcoming Benedict Cumberbatch sequel was never going to be a full-out R-Rated adventure, it’s good to see Marvel Studios have seemingly been able to keep some of that spirit intact. Though, there probably shouldn’t have been much doubt about its inclusion after the reveal of Zombie Strange.

What also looks terrifying is Scarlet Witch herself. Her newfound relationship with the Darkhold doesn’t look like it’s going to be doing any favors for the Multiverse.

Hopefully, this darker tone, a line Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight is also walking, opens the doors to even more possibilities. Maybe Punisher can rejoin the MCU with all his brutality intact, or Ghost Rider, an equally dark character, can come into the picture.
