DHSS reports 53 new COVID-19 cases in the state – KTUU

UPDATE:

DHSS announced today there are 53 residents in 12 communities: Anchorage (31), Fairbanks (6), Eagle River (3), Valdez-Cordova Census Area (3), Ketchikan (2), Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area (2), Wasilla (2), Juneau (1), Kodiak Island Borough (1), Kusilvak Census Area (1) and Willow (1).

There are also 4 new nonresident cases. Municipality of Anchorage (2 visitors, 1 tourism industry, and one unknown location and industry).

One case previously reported as a resident of Anchorage has been corrected to a nonresident visitor case. This brings the total number of Alaska cases to 1,631 and the total number of nonresident cases to 325.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The State of Alaska has announced 53 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Alaska. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,631. Currently, there are 945 active cases and 669 recovered cases.

The total number of nonresidents sits at 325.

Juneau City and Borough (1)

Matanuska-Susitna Borough (3)

Valdez-Cordova Census Area (2)

Kodiak Island Borough (1)

There are 96 total hospitalizations. No new deaths have been reported. To date 17 Alaskans have died with COVID-19 since March.
