Demi Lovato Gives Touching Intro to Shea Diamond at GLAAD Media Awards – Billboard

Demi Lovato appeared during the 2020 GLAAD Media Awards livestream on Thursday (July 30) to offer some heartfelt words of support to the LGBTQ community, trans youth in particular. “To all the trans youth – I want you to know you matter,” Lovato said. “Do not let anyone — much less our government — fool into thinking you are anything less than perfect.”

Noting the “outrageous discrimination” faced by trans people of color in America, Lovato introduced one of that community’s fiercest voices — Shea Diamond. The stunner singer and her socially distanced band banged out the celebratory anthem “I Am America,” which is the theme song for HBO’s We’re Here and one of our favorite LGBTQ songs of the year.
