NYU Langone is now offering the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine to eligible patients, based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New York State Department of Health.
Based on these guidelines and instructions from New York state, we are approved to start vaccinating patients who are 75 and older, and certain essential workers. As the state guidelines expand—and as the supply of the vaccine delivered to NYU Langone increases—we will offer the vaccine to additional eligible patients.
How You Will Find Out About COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling
We are contacting our patients by email and text message as they become eligible to receive the vaccine and as we have the vaccine available, so there is no need to contact your doctor directly. If you are an NYU Langone patient, please review your contact information in your NYU Langone Health MyChart account and make sure it is up to date.
If you do not yet have a MyChart account, create your account now so you can schedule your appointment as soon as you are eligible. We strongly encourage our patients to download the NYU Langone Health app and create a MyChart account so you can quickly and easily schedule your vaccination appointment when you are eligible.

Vaccinations are being given at several NYU Langone locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island. You will be able to choose the location and time that is most convenient for you.
Important Vaccine Information and Considerations
When we notify you that you are eligible to schedule your vaccination, we encourage you to schedule your appointment as soon as possible, as availability is limited. You will need to receive two doses of the vaccine for it to be effective. We receive different COVID-19 vaccines from different companies. You will not be able to choose the vaccine you receive, and we will not be able to tell you the vaccine in advance.
Most people can directly schedule once you receive the MyChart or text notification. However, if any of these categories apply to you, we ask that you first contact your doctor before making an appointment.
- you had an allergic reaction to a vaccine in the past
- you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
- you have a condition that affects your immune system
- you are getting radiation therapy or taking medications that affect your immune system
Please do not schedule a vaccination or come to NYU Langone to be vaccinated if you have any of the following:
- currently feeling sick
- have been told by the New York State Department of Health to quarantine or had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 10 days
- were treated with antibody infusions, such as COVID serum or intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), in the past 90 days
- had any vaccine in the past 14 days
After you complete your first vaccination, you will need to schedule your second vaccination through MyChart. You will be able to schedule the second vaccination between three and four weeks after your first dose, depending on the vaccine you received.
