COVID-19 Statistics | July 12, 2021 – Lost Coast Outpost

Twenty-eight new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Humboldt County since the most recent report Friday. The total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus is 4,675.  

Two new hospitalizations have also been reported since Friday, one person in their 40s and another in their 60s.  

Since the last weekly data update on July 6, the county has reported 60 cases of COVID-19 and four hospitalizations. More than half of the cases were in residents under the age of 30, including 16 residents between the ages of 10 and 19 and five children under the age of 10. The residents who were hospitalized over the last week were two people in their 40s and two in their 60s.

Health officials broadly agree that vaccination remains the single best way to prevent COVID-19 infection. Vaccine is available at Public Health clinics and at most local pharmacies. Walk-ins are welcome at all Public Health clinics, or sign up in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov. See the clinic schedule for the next seven days below.

          Pfizer/Johnson & Johnson 

The Pfizer vaccine is approved for children as young as 12 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is authorized for those 18 and older.
