LANSING — Local health officials confirmed 13 COVID-19 cases involving employees at Sundance Chevrolet in Grand Ledge.
The Barry-Eaton District Health Department reported the outbreak in a press release Saturday. Officials encouraged anyone who was at the car dealership between Oct. 29 and Nov. 6 to begin self-isolating, monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms, limit contact with others as much as possible and seek a COVID-19 test as soon as possible if they begin experiencing symptoms.
COVID-19 infection rates in Eaton County have risen sharply in recent weeks, according to the press release, with an average of 30 new cases per day, compared to three cases per day in July.
“Given this level of spread, the chances of interacting with someone who has COVID-19 are greatly increased,” according to the press release.

Officials warn that the spreading disease can be serious and even deadly. COVID-19 symptoms can include cough, fever, loss of smell or taste, fatigue and difficulty breathing.
Health department officials encouraged residents to take precautions, like frequent hand washing, practicing social distancing, staying at home when sick or quarantined and wearing a mask.
“All of these are scientifically shown to reduce the spread of disease and save lives.”
