Comedian Fortune Feimster married her fiancée, kindergarten teacher Jacquelyn ‘Jax’ Smith, in the backyard of a rented a seaside home in Malibu on Friday.
The Sincerely Fortune podcasters – both 40 – wore a blue suit and a beachy white wedding gown while exchanging vows in front of ‘a couple’ of their closest friends at the Zoom-streamed ceremony.
‘I was excited. We’ve been together for five and a half years. If you don’t know who you’re marrying after five-and-a-half years, then you’re in trouble. So I knew it felt good, it felt right,’ Fortune (born Emily) told People on Sunday.

‘I think it ended up being even more special for us and for our friends because 2020 has been so overshadowed by so much loss for so many people, and hardships and anxiety. It was just a nice, special, happy day where for one day you didn’t think about that, all the stuff that’s been going on.’
Feimster and Smith – who plan on hosting a big reception in 2021 when it’s safer – enlisted their Pomeranian rescue dog Biggie to serve ring-bearer duties at the event where everyone was tested for COVID-19.
The Friendsgiving funnywoman – who calls Jax ‘my perfect person’ – will honeymoon in the Maldives, and admitted the Supreme Court nomination of judge Amy Coney Barrett motivated them to tie the knot.

‘Hopefully, marriage equality is here to stay. But we wanted to be more proactive and get married while we know we can,’ Fortune admitted.
‘You just don’t know what will happen when the tide shifts so significantly with the Supreme Court. You hope that they listen to the country. I mean, the majority of people support marriage equality.’
Feimster and Smith – who came out as lesbian in 2005 and 1995 – originally met in 2015 the day after the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage was legal in all 50 states.
