Sex And The City’s Chris Noth has leapt to the defence of Sarah Jessica Parker as he gave his take on the ‘nasty’ feud between the actress and their ex co-star Kim Cattrall.
The pair have been at loggerheads for years, with Kim, 65, infamously slamming SJP, 56, for sending ‘insincere’ condolences following the death of Kim’s brother Chris in 2018.
And with Kim’s absence noticeable in the upcoming spin-off And Just Like That… Chris, 67, gave his take on the situation, branding the public spat ‘uncomfortable’.

Speaking to The Guardian, Chris, who plays SJP’s lover Mr Big in the franchise, said of Kim: ‘I have to tell you, I have absolutely no idea what her thinking is, or her emotions.
‘I do know that I’m very close with SJ and [Cattrall’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close. I liked her, I thought she was marvellous in the show and some people move on for their own reasons. I don’t know what hers were.
‘I just wish that whole thing had never happened because it was sad and uncomfortable. I just don’t like to see anyone talking down about SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty.’

Chris went on to say he feels ‘very protective’ of his SJP and was ‘not happy’ about Kim branding her a ‘hypocrite’ and accusing her of ‘exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your “nice girl” persona’.
While rumours of jealousy and infighting on the set of the long-running HBO series have circulated for years, long after the show’s 2004 finale, Chris told the publication he had ‘nothing more to say on the matter’.
Kim took aim at Parker in February 2018, after the Divorce actress publicly commiserated over the death of her brother.
‘My Mom asked me today ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’” Cattrall wrote on Instagram at the time.

Awkward: And with Kim’s absence noticeable in the upcoming spin-off And Just Like That… Chris, 67, branded the public spat ‘uncomfortable’ (the cast pictured in 1999)
‘Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona’ she concluded the savage takedown.
In 2017, Cattrall told Piers Morgan Sarah ‘could have been nicer’ to her during their time on the Sex and the City TV series and two subsequent movies.
‘I don’t know what her issue is, I never have,’ concluded the actress.
Elsewhere in the interview, Chris revealed he didn’t know Willie Garson was ill before he died.
Willie, who played Stanford Blatch, died aged 57 in September after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Chris said most the cast ‘didn’t know’ Willie was ill as he reflected on the last time he saw him on set.
Describing Willie’s death as ‘heartbreaking’, the Hollywood star said ‘he didn’t really get a chance to talk to him’ the last time he saw him – something he regrets.
And Chris – who reprises his role as John ‘Mr. Big’ Preston on the show – revealed the tragedy meant elements of the new series had to be rewritten because there had been a ‘really huge storyline’ planned for Willie’s character, Stanford.
And Just Like That … is released on 9 December on Sky Comedy and streaming service Now.
