MAPPA has revealed the first full trailer for its new Chainsaw Man anime, and it’s predictably full of gory fights. The studio showed the trailer for the first time during its MAPPA 10 year anniversary event on Sunday.
The series follows Denji as he hunts down devils. When a job goes wrong, Denji gets transformed into a human-devil hybrid with a chainsaw abilities that he gains thanks to his half-chainsaw dog Pochita. And yes, somehow the series is every bit as ridiculous and great as its premise.
Jujutsu Kaisen episode director Ryū Nakayama announced his involvement at the event. Chainsaw Man manga creator Tatsuki Fujimoto also joined the stage to show his support.
Ryu Nakayama (@r_nkym_) June 27, 2021
Chainsaw Man isn’t the only anime that MAPPA is working on at the moment either. The studio is also in production on Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2, as well as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie, and Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence.
