During London Fashion Week in September I met Leanne Claxton. She started painting when she was just six using oil paints to elucidate her love, imagination and obsession with flowers. Her brilliance and creative work reflects clearly through her collection of scarves that feature floral designs. The artist got her BBA degree in Textile Design at Central Saint Martins and much of her time was spent under the mentoring of influential fashions designers, including Christian Lacroix. Leanne started the scarves printing business in 2011, in an attempt to make her artwork more accessible to the masses. During London Fashion Week, I was invited to try out the Fashion Week cocktails after shows at the luxurious Dukes Hotel’s GBR restaurant. Located at a five-minute walk from Buckingham Palace, and located in the heart of Saint James’ Mayfair, the luxurious British hotel fabled for its hospitality is a favourite amongst fashionistas. Following that premiere, new episodes will air every Friday, ending on October 9th, making for an eight-episode season. BET president Scott Mills wants viewers of this year’s BET Awards to understand one thing up front: don’t call it a virtual awards show. It’s a “complete mischaracterization of what the show is,” says Mills of the BET Awards which, like many other special events, has had to shift gears as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the ceremony will air Sunday evening (June 28) and also make its national broadcast debut on CBS. Noting that other media have tagged the show as virtual, Mills continues, “We actually never have described it as virtual. Earlier in the week, we were able to catch a ride on a Walt Disney World Resort bus, which began operation with new social distancing measures in place, including specific places for parties to sit and Plexiglas dividers. After reviewing those procedures, we were curious about what the other transportation methods around the resort would look like, and today we got a look at the monorails! Parked inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we found this monorail with what looks to be a vinyl partition hanging inside the cabin. Here we get a much closer view at the new covering, which you can see is anchored to the roof of the monorail. JoJo Siwa is that you?! The 17-year-old star just kissed her famous blonde hair goodbye and revealed a major makeover on Instagram. On Friday night, the YouTube sensation showed off her hair transformation, in which she revealed her brunette color. "wait for it.....," she captioned her short video clip. In the footage, JoJo stepped into frame rocking her famous side ponytail with a massive pink bow accessory. You know, the usual.
