SALT LAKE CITY — On July 9, while playing in a friend’s backyard with his younger sister, 6-year-old Bridger Walker, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, did something any big brother should do: He saved his 4-year-old sister’s life by standing in between her and a charging dog. According to his father, Robert Walker, Bridger was bitten in the face by the dog, requiring over 90 stitches to repair the wound. The events that transpired, Walker said, were recounted to him by his son, daughter, and the dog’s owners. He said that he hopes the story will bring happiness and hope to those who read it. One current and 10 former employees of The Ellen DeGeneres have come forward anonymously with claims regarding a "toxic work environment" on set.  The individuals, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of retribution, told Buzzfeed News in a piece published Thursday, July 16 that Ellen DeGeneres' eponymous daytime talk show isn't the cheery, benevolent program viewers see at home. Instead, employees said they were fired after taking medical leave or bereavement days, faced microaggressions and were subjected to favoritism by executive producers. Comedian and Oscar-winning actress Mo'Nique is moving forward with her lawsuit against Netflix. On Thursday, a Los Angeles judge denied Netflix’s motion to dismiss all of Mo’Nique’s pay discrimination retaliation claims made against the streaming service provider, according to new court docs. Mo'Nique, 52, accused the entertainment company of racial and gender discrimination for attempting to underpay her in 2017 for a stand-up special in comparison to what the company paid other stars for similar work. The transaction was the result of a March 2020 court-ordered writ executed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Before the cash grab, Spelling, 47, had a debt of $88,731.25 to AmEx, which filed two separate suits against her in 2016, one for the $88K sum and another for nearly $38,000. It’s unclear what she currently owes to the company.
