If there’s one area where 2020 hasn’t failed, it’s music. Surprise collaborations such as Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé on “Savage” and new releases from artists like The Weeknd have kept people’s spirits up.
This year, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and Beyoncé have all fulfilled wish list desires in terms of team-ups, but we’re not sure anyone was ready for this Cardi B rumor to be confirmed.
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion become latest dream team
We don’t know if the fans manifested it or the music gods are smiling upon humanity, but the next mega hip-hop alliance is arriving in the form of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
Were you expecting this pairing? On Aug. 2, Cardi B teased a major announcement for her Instagram followers, and stated it would be revealed the next day.
Both she and Megan Thee Stallion just shared this graphic to let fans know they’re dropping a new single on Friday, Aug. 7 titled “WAP.”
Peep the graphic on this cover art and you’ll notice they’re both rocking the same aesthetic in the hair and earring department.
We’re not sure what WAP stands for yet, but it’s possible these two women are flipping B.A.P.S. from the ‘90s or they’ll simply gift us with some fresh slang this summer.

Megan Thee Stallion dismissed rumors about Cardi B beef
Previously, fans accused Megan Thee Stallion of disliking Cardi B. Various rumors said she spent time in the comment sections of her YouTube videos and other social media realms “liking” negative remarks about Cardi B.
Things reached a dramatic pitch after the release of her Suga EP and legal squabbles with her label, 1501 Entertainment. But Megan quickly refuted the rumors on Twitter.
On April 1, she wrote a simple tweet addressing the “fake beef” with Cardi B: “I did not like no damn stupid a*s comment like this. I don’t even upload my own sh*t to my YouTube my label does. I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANYBODY. I don’t like drama I do not bring other females down stop trying to start fake beef.”
If this hip-hop tag team doesn’t put all the speculation to rest, we’re not sure what else does. It’s another huge moment for fans.
