Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz is pregnant with her first child with husband Brad Hoss – Daily Mail

She’s gearing up for the role of a lifetime.

And Stephanie Beatriz announced she’s pregnant with her first child with husband Brad Hoss in a sit-down with PEOPLE magazine.

The 40-year-old actress, who came out as bisexual when she was in college, admitted that she never saw children in her future until she met Hoss. 

‘I didn’t think that a committed partnership was really for me,’ she said. ‘I couldn’t really see kids. It wasn’t that I was closed off to it. It was more that I couldn’t quite see how a baby fit into the life that I was building.’

The couple announced their engagement in October 2017 and were married nearly one year later.

She noted her marriage doesn’t mean she’s ‘any less queer … I was able to be my fullest, most authentic self around Brad. He’s extremely empathetic and open.’ 

Beatriz added: ‘I think one of the best things you can do is raise a kid who understands that however a person chooses to shape their one glorious life is worthy of celebration.’

Stephanie has starred as Detective Rosa Diaz on the NBC comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine since 2013, and she’ll soon take her talents to the silver screen for the highly-anticipated film, In The Heights.

The film was originally set to be released on June 26, 2020 but the global COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on the cinema industry.

When the option to delay the project was a possibility Miranda had his reservations about doing so until his director Jon Chu changed his mind.

In an interview with Variety, Lin-Manuel Miranda said: ‘I very publicly was the one person who was really against it. I was like, ‘How can we hang onto this for a year when we know how wonderful it is?’

‘Jon’s argument to me, which is the correct one, is we can release it now and people would feel good to have it in their homes. Or we can release it with the right push next year, and then we create a lane of Latinx stars so that I never have to sit in a meeting and hear someone say, ‘Do they test international?”
