Britney Spears wished her not so little sister Jamie Lynn a belated happy 30th birthday on Friday with a gushing tribute.
The 39-year-old pop star — who has been at the mercy of a lengthy conservatorship battle since 2008 — penned a social media message to the former Nickelodeon star about independence, writing: ‘I wish I was as strong as you.’
Britney’s tribute to Jamie was a bit late as her birthday was on April 4, but regardless the Toxic singer felt the need to publicly convey her affection for her sister by sharing a throwback snap.

Britney’s words accompanied a snap of the duo with once boyfriend Justin Timberlake and Natalie Portman. Justin has since apologized for slandering her name and profiting off a narrative she broke his heart following the Framing Britney Spears documentary.

It is unclear when the the sisters last saw each other, but Jamie did break her silence on Britney’s ongoing conservatorship situation after the bombshell Hulu documentary.
The Zoey 101 star cryptically shared an Instagram that read ‘Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.’
Additionally she tried to clarify reports that she was seen attending a ‘Free Britney’ rally, among fans who have gathered around the singer during her quest to remove their dad Jamie Spears as her conservator.
‘I love my sister very much, but I was not aware of a rally, nor was I in attendance,’ Jamie wrote.

She splits time between Los Angeles and a home in the south with her husband Jamie Watson and their daughter Ivey, two. Spears also has daughter Maddie, 12, with whom she shares with ex-fiance Casey Aldridge.
At the time her teenage pregnancy sent shockwaves through Hollywood, as her career was just starting to take off at the time. She has since continued to act, appearing in the Netflix series Sweet Magnolias and has complete control over her life unlike her sister.
Jamie’s 30th birthday fell on Easter Sunday. ‘I’ve decided to leave all the bulls**t in my 20’s, and focus more on the good s**t in my 30’s. Hallelujah, y’all. Jesus is resurrected, and I’m feeling a bit resurrected myself,’ she wrote alongside a photo with her daughters.
With regards to Britney’s ongoing conservatorship battle, her lawyer Samuel D Ingham III has now requested on the singer’s behalf that her professional care manager and temporary conservator Jodi Montgomery be made permanent.

Montgomery would be able to make personal decisions for the singer including things related to her health and lifestyle.
Britney’s estate is still controlled jointly by Jamie and the financial institution Bessemer Trust. He had requested to gain more control on investment related decisions but was denied by a court.
It has been reported that she refuses to work until her dad is permanently removed from overseeing her life in any capacity, and the next hearing is currently scheduled for April 27 where they will press his resignation.
He filed legal papers last week demanding that Britney’s estate foot the bill for $3M in legal fees — $2M for his own lawyers who rendered services between November 2019 and February 2021.
According to Page Six, he additionally requested to continue receiving ‘$16,000 per month for his role as co-conservator of the estate as well as $2,000 per month for an office space, equating to $288,000 for the 16-month period.’
