Boston to host free, weekly drive-in movie series throughout July
The city of Boston is looking to provide a safe entertainment for its residents amid the COVID-19 pandemic by holding a free, weekly drive-in movie series throughout the month of July.The showings will be held in the rear parking lot at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, as well as the Parker Street Parking Lot at 121 Halleck St., which is near the Wentworth Institute of Technology.City officials said they will be using an LED screen that is visible from afar during the day and at night.The series, which begins July 8, is being organized by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Office of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment. The Highland Street Foundation, in partnership with the Age Strong Commission, is supporting the events.”We are proud to offer free, family-friendly entertainment for the people of Boston through the July Drive-in Movie Series,” said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. “We are thankful for the Highland Street Foundation’s support to make this happen, and to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and Wentworth Institute of Technology for hosting.
