‘The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon Sings “It’s Starting To Look A Bit Like Normal” As He Returns To 30 Rock Studio – Deadline

The Tonight Show returned to the studio tonight with Jimmy Fallon kicking off with an emotional message to viewers. Fallon, sitting on a stool in the middle of the studio, rather than behind the traditional desk, and dressed in a sweater and sneakers rather that his usual suit, said that “any type of normalcy feels great” during the COVID-19 pandemic. “As a New Yorker, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped get us back to where we are now,” he opened. “To all the states, going through the tough parts, friends in Florida, Texas, Arizona, California. I know how hard it is, I’m not going to lie to you, it’s tough. But I’m here to show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel if we all do our part to keep each other safe.” Related Story 'The T...

Naya Riveras body recovered from California lake, sheriff says – CBS News

California authorities announced Monday that they are "confident" that a body they found at a California lake is that of missing actress Naya Rivera. The announcement concludes an extensive search for Rivera, which began six days ago after her 4-year-old son was found alone in a pontoon boat the pair had rented.  "We are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera," said Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub. The sheriff said the location of the body, its physical characteristics and clothing, and the fact that no other missing people have been reported, make officials confident the body is Rivera's. She was found in the northeastern portion of Lake Piru, floating near the surface, Ayub said. He added that investigators believe her body was in that area the whole time, but that i...

State leaders address recent spike in COVID-19 cases – KTVA

“We are in the middle of a significant COVID-19 case spike. Our contact tracing capacity has been overwhelmed, and we must defend our hospital capacity. Contact tracing is critical because it allows us to know where the virus is and who has it so we can better contain it. Hospital capacity allows us to safely treat those who have become infected. We know that this public health crisis poses a threat to our jobs and businesses, and we know what works to keep us safe. Mask up. Stay six feet apart. Wash hands. Keep our social bubbles small. Flattening the curve is how we stop the increase in cases. And, as we have seen in so many other states, it’s what we need to do so we won’t have to start shutting things down.”

In a report published Tuesday, an advisory group of 37 experts from the Academy of Medical Sciences stressed that "intense preparation" was urgently needed throughout the rest of July and August to reduce the risk of the National Health Service being overwhelmed ...

Immunity to the coronavirus might only last a few months, U.K. study finds – CNBC

Victoria Jones | PA Images via Getty Images Immunity to Covid-19 might only last a few months, according to a U.K. study that casts doubts over the longevity of potential coronavirus vaccines. Antibody responses to the coronavirus can peak three weeks after the initial onset of symptoms, but then begin to decline after as little as 2-3 months, researchers at Kings College London found. The study, published Saturday on  preprint server MedRxiv and not yet peer-reviewed, examined the antibody levels of 64 patients and six healthcare workers who had tested positive for the virus at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS f...

Popcorn Flour Makes the Best Cornbread

Popcorn cornbread is precisely what you think: cornbread made with popcorn. Easy. The cornbread you know, made even more likable. There is a solid chance that you, like I did, think popcorn cornbread constitutes tufts of popped popcorn suspended in aerated animation. Nope. Or that popcorn cornbread defies physics, puffing over the skillet’s edge like a popped corn kernel’s endosperm bursting from its hull. It ain’t that either. Instead, popcorn cornbread has the precise carriage of the standard cornmeal loaf, with an invigoration of popcorn flour. Yes, I am talking about flour made from popped popcorn. You can make popcorn flour at home (see below). Like, tonight. That way, it will be ready for its starring role in popcorn cornbread, the inspir...
