Doctors in states with rising COVID-19 cases share their fears: “Is this the tipping point?” – CBS News

Some hospitals in states where coronavirus cases are surging are running out of beds. Doctors and nurses, who watched COVID-19 hit New York City hard, are concerned about what's next for their communities. Five front-line medical workers from Texas, Florida, Alabama and California, spoke to CBS News senior medical correspondent Dr. Tara Narula about their fears and the importance of wearing masks. Here's what they had to say. Dr. Theresa Tran; Houston, Texas "I remember really distinctly when the outbreak happened in New York City, we were all in our ERs down here in Texas," Tran said. Everything You Need to Know About Eating Moldy Food – Grub Street

Sqirl is a restaurant in Los Angeles that is best known as a place where beautiful California people and tourists from Brooklyn have brunch. They do sorrel pesto brown rice bowls. They do a lot of different toasts. They do small-batch jam. Before she opened Sqirl, in fact, chef-owner Jessica Koslow spent a year as a jam impresario, selling small-batch preserves at farmers’ markets. Now, there is a Sqirl jam subscription. Very soon, there will be a Sqirl jam cookbook. By all accounts, it is very tasty jam. There is just one problem with the Sqirl jam: This weekend, self-described scientist and “food antagonist” Joe Rosenthal posted an in-depth Instagram story (“The Fungal”) in which “two former employees...

A Class Act

Verve People Text by Anandita Bhalerao. Videography by Joshua Navalkar After years of being sheltered under the comfortable aegis of student life, graduates arm themselves to face the formidable adversary that they have come to be warned about ever since their first childhood misdemeanours. It’s the same one Monica refers to in the pilot episode of Friends when she says “Welcome to the real world. It sucks. You’re gonna love it”, as the characters huddle around Rachel, encouraging her to cut up her father’s credit cards and embrace an independent lifestyle. Most students from graduating batches are brimming with excitement and trepidation – in equal measure – at go...

Andrews, 42, joined the show as a co-host in 2014. Lisa Canning initially served as the co-host of Season 1, followed by Samantha Harris, who appeared on the second through...

Kanye West Gets 2% in National Presidential Poll – TMZ

Kanye West has a snowball's chance in hell to win the presidency, because his first poll numbers suck ... but he could definitely play spoiler -- question is, for whom? Redfield & Wilton Strategies -- a consulting firm that does polling and market research -- released results from a poll it did last week ... and when Ye's included as one of the candidates, he only clocked in at 2%. That's out of 2,000 people polled. Granted, the other third-party candidates from the Libertarian and Green Parties aren't polling much higher than he was either -- both also hit the 2% and 1% each, respectively. Now, here's the really interesting thing -- while you'd think the rapper and producer getting in the race might hurt Joe Biden (that's h...
