Amber Heard takes the stand in Johnny Depp defamation trial – CNN

CNN  —  Amber Heard took the stand on Wednesday in her defense against a $50 million defamation claim brought by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, detailing in her three hours of testimony the early days of their romance and allegations of physical and sexual abuse. “I struggle to find the words to describe how painful this is. This is horrible for me to sit here for weeks and relive everything,” Heard said during the start of her testimony at Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” Though Depp was not named in the a...

U.S. Senator Says It May Be True COVID Vaccine Gives People AIDS – Yahoo News

JohnsonU.S. Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin, responded to a man claiming COVID vaccines give people AIDS by telling him "everything you say may be true." Johnson was speaking to Todd Callendar, who bills himself as an "international lawyer" and "leader of a group trying to stop the Biden regime's effort to destroy the U.S. military via injections of the so-called vaccine that contains HIV." During Callendar and Johnson's conversation on the rightwing video-sharing platform Rumble, Callendar again claimed the various COVID vaccines give users AIDS and that health officials need to be "held accountable." "You've got more than a hundred doctors here, all of whom will tell you these shots caused vaccine-induced AIDS," Callendar said, even though no reputable doctor has made ...

Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

FAIRFAX. Va. — Amber Heard’s whirlwind romance with Johnny Depp became a real-life horror film as the actor morphed into a Jekyll-and-Hyde “monster” — who beat and threatened to kill her when he abused drugs and alcohol, she testified Wednesday. The harrowing details of the couple’s soured love story emerged when the “Aquaman” actress took the stand after more than three weeks of Depp’s side presenting its case in his bombshell defamation trial against her. “He was the love of my life but he was also this other thing … And that other thing was awful,” Heard said in the Fairfax, Virginia, courtroom. An “awful thing that would come out and take over and you couldn’t see the Johnny I loved underneath it,” she continued, saying Depp, 58, called his abusive self “th...

Neighbors remember Dave Chappelles alleged attacker Isaiah Lee for blowout arguments – New York Post

The armed man who attacked Dave Chappelle on stage in Los Angeles was a “wanna-be rapper” with a temper who was known for creating havoc in his apartment complex, former neighbors said. Isaiah Lee, 23, was arrested after he bumrushed Chappelle while carrying a strange knife that looks like a handgun in a caught-on-video attack at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday night. Former neighbor Russell Taylor remembered Lee as someone who could be “set off with a word.” “Whatever Chappelle was saying and he was not feeling, it would be no surprise to me that he would go, ‘Hey, I’m going to run up and fix it!’ ” said Taylor, who lived in a Redondo Beach, California condo next to a condo where Lee resided. “You know the slap heard around the world? This is the kind of ...

Being fat makes prostate cancer deadlier: Every two-and-a-half stone increases risk by 10% – Daily Mail

Hundreds of lives could be saved from prostate cancer if men lost weight, a major study suggests. Experts from the University of Oxford looked at measurements of over 2.5million men. Every five-point increase in BMI — about 2.5st (35lbs) for the average British man — was associated with a 10 per cent greater odds of dying of prostate cancer. Five points is enough to take someone from being of a healthy weight to overweight, or overweight to obese.  The researchers estimate that bulging waistlines are responsible for 1,300 prostate cancer death in Britain each year. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with around 52,000 diagnosed every year. In the US, around 165,000 are diagnosed, with nearly 30,000 deaths.  Every five point increase in body ma...

Mysterious liver illness in kids continues to spread. N.J. parents should look for these signs. – NJ.com

While New Jersey has yet to record a case of the mysterious hepatitis in children, state health officials are on the lookout as the string of severe liver infections grows throughout the U.S. and around the globe. “At this time, the (New Jersey) Department of Health is not aware of any cases among children in New Jersey. We are monitoring for any reports of potential cases,” a spokeswoman for the state health department said in an email. Roughly 30 cases of unexplained hepatitis have been reported across 10 U.S. states, and nearly 300 probable cases have been identified worldwide. Most of the patients live in the United Kingdom. The cases have baffled experts. They could be linked to the adenovirus — a virus that can cause the common cold — but their origin remains unclear. Here’s ...
