Bad Bunny: Un Verano Sin Ti review – this is why he is the world’s biggest pop star – The Guardian

Bad Bunny (Rimas Entertainment)Hopping from psychedelia to indie-pop to woozy reggaeton, this giant album flaunts the Puerto Rican’s boundless creativity If you Google Bad Bunny – AKA 28-year-old Puerto Rican Benito Ocasio – one of the suggestions the search engine throws up is the question: “Why is Bad Bunny so big?” It’s a pertinent query, particularly on this side of the Atlantic, where he remains a marginal figure with a solitary hit single, 2018’s Drake-assisted Mia. Yet he could call himself the biggest pop star in the world: he was the most streamed artist on Spotify in both 2020 and 2021, racking up 17.4bn streams in two years. In the US, he is huge on a historic scale: the first artist to top the Billboard charts with an entirely Spanish-language album, El Último Tour Del Mundo....

A student was horrified when heartburn from boozing too much was actually cancer – Daily Mail

A uni student was horrified to discover her heartburn that doctors told her was from boozing too much was actually 'incurable' cancer. Georgia Ford, 20, from Stroud, Gloucestershire, said she developed a 'choking' cough last April and sickness soon after, but a GP just put this down to the amount of alcohol she was drinking and prescribed her stomach-lining tablets. But over the course of several months the students symptoms, which also included weight loss and back pain, worsened. After countless trips to the doctors, Georgia was stunned when she was eventually diagnosed with a kidney cancer called papillary renal cell carcinoma in November. The law student says her life has been 'turned upside down' since receiving the heart-breaking news that the cancer had also spread to her lungs, li...

New study finds omicron no less severe than earlier variants, and not just more transmissible – MarketWatch

A new study conducted by researchers at Harvard Medical School among others has found that the omicron variant of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 is just as severe as earlier variants, and not more transmissible but no less severe, as previously thought. The study was based on the records of 130,000 COVID patients in Massachusetts and carried out by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital and Minerva University along with Harvard and is currently being peer-reviewed by Nature Portfolio, according to a Reuters report. But its findings, which evaluated the severity of omicron after accounting for the effect of vaccines, underscores how important vaccines and boosters are, and shows they helped rein in hospitalizations and deaths during the omicron surge. “Although t...

Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Vietnamese man, 24, needed to get a 2cm-thick steel nut DRILLED off his strangled penis – Daily Mail

A 24-year-old Vietnamese man had to have a steel nut cut from his penis using a drill after getting it stuck while pleasuring himself. The unidentified patient went to hospital in Ho Chi Minh city where he told doctors the fastener had been stuck there for 10 hours. He admitted that he had shoved the 2cm (0.7inch) thick hexagonal nut around his shaft to enhance his masturbation experience. The uncircumcised patient complained that his penis had become numb and that he was unable to urinate. His penis was so swollen that doctors could not remove the makeshift pleasure ring by hand, and were forced to use a dental drill to cut it off. Doctors said the steel nut (left), which was 2.7cm wide (1inch) on the inside and 4.1cm wide (1.6inches) on the outside, was...
