Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

SNL riffs on Roe v. Wade, abortion with Benedict Cumberbatch opening – USA TODAY

Little surprise "Saturday Night Live" kicked off its Mother's Day episode by tackling one of the biggest news stories of the year: the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion suggesting it is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, which guarantees the right to abortion. The sketch opened with a voice-over referring to Justice Samuel Alito making reference to a medieval jurist in his argument to overturn the decision. Cut to Benedict Cumberbatch, in his second time as host, as a 13th-century townsperson with a bowl haircut holding forth with two other simpletons on abortion. Perhaps a law should be created, muses Andrew Dismukes, "like the one we have against wearing pointy shoes." 'SNL' salutes Mother's Day: Every parent of teenagers will want to watch this bit "We should make a law," says Cumberbatc...

New Study Reveals The Reason Teens Seem to Tune Out Their Moms Voice – ScienceAlert

"Are you even listening to me?" It's a question that discouraged parents often throw at their distracted teenagers, and the truthful answer is probably, "No." It's hard to really blame them. New research on adolescent brains suggests the reaction we have to certain voices naturally shifts with time, making our mother's voice feel less valuable.   When scanning the brains of children, those 12 years and under showed an explosive neural response to their mother's voice, activating reward centers and emotion-processing centers in the brain.  Yet sometime around a kid's 13th birthday, a change occurs. The mother's voice no longer generates the same neurological reaction. Instead, a teenager's brain, regardless of their sex, appears more responsive to all voices in general, whether new or...

With a rise in coronavirus cases, what precautions should you take for Mothers Day, graduations and other festivities? – CNN

What should people know about these new subvariants, especially as many are gathering for celebrations such as Mother's Day and graduations? What kinds of precautions should they take? How can people gauge their own risk, and are there some gatherings people need to skip? Dr. Leana Wen: We know that the original Omicron variant was already more transmissible than previous variants like the Delta variant. Individuals infected with Omicron tended to have milder disease than those infected with Delta. And though the vaccines are less effective against Omicron than against some previous variants, vaccines and boosters still provide excellent protection against severe disease due to Omicron. The same seems to be the case with these new Omicron subvariants. There is no evidence that they ca...
