Late Show halts production after Stephen Colbert shows COVID symptoms – New York Post

Taping for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” has stopped until “further notice” as the talk show host is “experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID,” according to a tweet from the show’s account posted Monday afternoon. Colbert previously tested positive for the coronavirus less than a month ago, according to a tweet from April 21. At that time, he wrote that he was “basically fine,” thanks to being vaccinated, and joked, “This just proves that I will do anything to avoid interviewing Jason Bateman,” a reference to a planned interview that night with the popular “Ozark” star. On Monday, the political funnyman again made light of his positive test, tweeting, “WORST. SEQUEL. EVER.” Monday’s announcement indicated that Colbert — whose show a...

HBO leaks Westworld S4 teaser trailer and June 26th release date – The Verge

HBO’s puzzle-filled robot show that always packed extra sides of hedonism and murder is close to making its return, as fans apparently dug up a teaser trailer for season four of Westworld before its scheduled debut. You can watch it right here on HBO’s YouTube channel (via Reddit), to see that many of our android friends, foes, and friends who didn’t know they were androids will continue to have roles to play. I’d go more into the potential plot lines revealed in the flashes and scenes, but even after sticking around for seasons one and two, I don’t really remember watching season three of this show. Launching roughly two months ahead of the debut of HBO Max and squarely in the center of early coronavirus pandemic lockdowns here in the US on March 15th, 2020, the third season didn’t...

The Common Places BA.2 And Other Omicron Subvariants Are Spreading – Yahoo! Voices

Earlier in the pandemic, contact tracing data showed us where COVID-19 was predominantly spreading. Unfortunately, because our contact tracing efforts have slowed down, we don’t have as clear of a picture regarding where people are mostly likely to contract omicron and its subvariants. What we do know is that, while the virus has evolved to be much more transmissible than previous variants, the way COVID-19 spreads hasn’t changed. “Nothing has changed in terms of how any individual right now, regardless of their day-to-day activity, can pick this virus up,” Mark Cameron, infectious disease researcher at Case Western Reserve University, told HuffPost. Because of that, we can assume there are some hot spots for BA.2 and other omicron subvariants compared to others. Here are common places...

Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Accuser testifies in Mario Batali sexual misconduct trial – The Associated Press – en Español

BOSTON (AP) — Mario Batali’s sexual misconduct trial opened Monday in a Boston court with his accuser recounting how she’d been “shocked, surprised and alarmed” as the celebrity chef aggressively kissed and groped her while taking selfies at a restaurant in 2017. The 32-year-old Boston-area software company worker said she felt confused and powerless to do anything to stop Batali. “It was all happening so quickly and it was happening essentially the whole time,” the woman testified in the trial, which resumes Tuesday in Boston Municipal Court. “Just a lot of touching.” She said she felt embarrassed until she saw other women step forward to share similar encounters with Batali. “This happened to me and this is my life,” the woman responded when prosecutors asked why she’d come forward. “I...
