Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

John Oliver Killed By Murderous Hell-Demon In Surprise Show-Stopper – HuffPost

Why’s your electric bill so high? “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver has some answers ― starting with a bizarre system in which electric companies have a massive financial incentive to build new infrastructure but no incentive to maintain what’s already there. The results aren’t just higher costs for residents. Sometimes, they can be tragic: The deadliest fire in California history started when a hook broke at a PG&E transmission tower. That hook was 97 years old and had never been replaced. Oliver said he’d normally bring out a mascot to show how “terrible and horrifying” utilities are. But he didn’t have to in this case. “They already made a murderous hell-demon almost 100 years ago,” he said, referring to an extremely creepy long-ago mascot for power companies called Reddy Ki...

Colorado has identified five cases of a mystery hepatitis in children – The Colorado Sun

Colorado has reported its first cases of severe hepatitis of unknown cause in kids, adding to a growing number of cases nationally being investigated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As of Friday, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment had reported five potential instances to the CDC. All met the CDC’s broad definition for cases — mainly that they occurred in kids ages 10 or younger and that doctors didn’t know what caused them. None of the five kids in Colorado died or required liver transplants as a result of their illnesses, though four were hospitalized. CDPHE says all five children either recovered or are in the process of recovering. One case dates to December and was reported to the CDC last month. The other four cases were reported to the CDC o...

Janet Jackson makes surprise Billboard Music Awards appearance to honor fellow icon Mary J. Blige – Yahoo Entertainment

Janet Jackson does not make many television appearances — so when the reclusive pop legend strutted out unannounced in her top hat and tuxedo dress at Sunday’s 2022 Billboard Music Awards to present her friend Mary J. Blige with the lifetime-achievement Icon Award, she was greeted with a standing ovation of her own. Doja Cat, sitting in the BBMAs audience at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena, looked particularly awestruck, and her reaction instantly became a meme. It was a ladies’ night of mutual fandom and appreciation at the BBMAs, when Jackson, who received the Icon Award at the 2018 Billboard Awards, honored Blige this year. “What makes an icon?” she began. “Is it the ability to create, explore, and practically pioneer an entire musical genre? Is it the amassing of millions of dedic...

New information about mysterious hepatitis cases – KELOLAND.com

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The CDC is investigating mysterious cases of hepatitis in young children. Hepatitis causes inflammation of the liver and can cause liver failure. So far, the CDC says the cause of these hepatitis cases is unknown, however, doctors have found a possible association with another virus. “As of May 5th, the CDC was investigating 109 cases of hepatitis in the United States including cases in South Dakota, and of those cases, about half of them were testing positive for adenovirus,” said Dr. Tonya Adamiak, Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Sanford Children’s Hospital. The CDC has yet to confirm if this virus is the cause. Dr. Tonya Adamiak at Sanford’s Children’s Hospital spoke with us about the symptoms to watch for. “With Hepatitis, kids ca...
