Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Meet Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy in the new trailer for season 3 of The Boys – The A.V. Club

The first teaser for season three of Amazon Prime Video’s deconstructionist superhero series The Boys was based around the shocking reveal of Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher suddenly having Homelander-style eye lasers—plus some quick cuts of extreme violence and weird The Boys shenanigans—but this new trailer is finally digging into some explanations for what’s going on. We first see Antony Starr’s Homelander making various TV appearances to insist, over and over again, that he’s doing totally fine after the events of the show’s second season. He’s obviously full of shit, because he’s Homelander, but this turn does give Starr a lot of opportunities to flash that terrible smile of his. The second big thing in this teaser is Butcher shooting up with some green juice that gives him superpo...

COVID in California: Booster shot for children 5-11 may get approval this week – San Francisco Chronicle

San Francisco is in a new pandemic place: It no longer has COVID-19 case rates that are lower than those of the nation overall, a reversal of its status throughout the pandemic. Legislation aimed at getting more people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 seems to have fallen out of vogue among California lawmakers. Masks, on the other hand, are being strongly recommended by health officers from around the Bay Area as coronavirus infections continue to climb. Scientists get closer to identifying symptoms of long COVID Using machine learning, scientists working with the National Institute of Health have discovered patterns in electronic health record data to better identify patients who may be suffering from long COVID, which is marked by wide-ranging symptom...

Omicron caused spike in breathing condition in babies and toddlers, study finds – Ars Technica

Enlarge / Parents look after their son, age 5, who is being treated for croup and asthma in an emergency room at a California hospital March 24, 2010. The omicron coronavirus variant caused a spike in cases of a potentially severe breathing condition in babies and toddlers, according to a hospital study recently published in the journal Pediatrics. The study is small, focusing only on COVID-19-associated cases at one large children's hospital in Massachusetts during the pandemic. But, it provides some of the initial data on the subject and backs up anecdotes from health care providers that the latest pandemic variant causes more cases of laryngotracheobronchitis—aka croup—in younger children than earlier variants. Generally, croup is a common ...

Larry Strickland: Wife Naomi Judd was fragile in days leading up to death – Page Six

Naomi Judd’s husband, Larry Strickland, was terrified of his late wife taking a flight alone because he knew she was in a “fragile” state. The Grammy winner, who died on April 30, flew solo from Austria to Nashville for the Country Music Hall of Fame ceremony. The event took place one day after her death. “I was really scared to death about her flying alone all the way from Vienna back to Nashville cause I knew how fragile she was,” Strickland, 76, recalled during CMT’s “Naomi Judd: A River of Time” special on Sunday. The North Carolina native noted that Judd made it to Tennessee “without a problem,” sharing a message from a stranger that the Judds member met during the flight.
