Coronavirus in Oregon: State officials report 307 cases and five deaths as hospitalizations reach new high – OregonLive

The Oregon Health Authority reported 307 new confirmed and presumptive coronavirus cases and five deaths on Friday. Disclosure of the new cases comes a day after case counts surged to record-breaking heights for the third consecutive week with 437 cases reported Thursday. Hospitalizations on Friday also reached record heights with 158, topping the previous record of 156 set in early April. State public health officials have raised concerns in the past when they see increases in residents at Oregon hospitals. They say the number typically grows as people seek care at a faster pace and when the sickest need longer stays. However, state officials said this week that despite the high counts, hospitalization rates are starting to plateau after five consecutive weeks of growing. Officials at...

"It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized." In an Instagram note she penned earlier this week, the 25-year-old artist detailed being shot more than once "as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me." Nick Cannons daytime talk show debut will NOT premier this fall after anti-Semitic comments – Daily Mail

The launch of Nick Cannon's daytime talk show has been postponed until 2021 after he was fired from ViacomCBS for making anti-Semitic and anti-white comments on his podcast.  The show's producers and distributor Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury announced Friday that The Nick Cannon show will not be premiering this September as originally planned, despite the 39-year-old host apologizing for his words.  The companies believe his 'apology is heartfelt and sincere', US Weekly reports, but decided to push back Cannon's debut as he continues 'the healing process' and 'meets with leaders of the Jewish community'.  Cannon had announced Wednesday that he is also taking some time away from his radio show for 'reflection' and posted a picture of his meeting with a prominent rabbi.  Yet late Thursday, h...

Harvey Weinstein Accuser Claims She Was Misquoted in Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Abuse Story – Hollywood Reporter

The Sun article that accused the actor of abusing his ex-wife at the center of a U.K. libel trial quoted Katherine Kendall, an actress and activist who says she was assaulted by Weinstein, as saying ''it seems that Amber got hurt" and condemning violence. A #MeToo activist said in a court document released Friday that she was "misquoted and misused" by a British tabloid newspaper in an article that accused Johnny Depp of physically abusing his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Depp is suing News Group Newspapers, publisher of The Sun, and the paper's executive editor, Dan Wootton, at the High Court in London over the April 2018 article, which called him a "wife-beater." He strongly denies abusing Heard. The article claimed there was a backlash by #MeToo activists against author J.K. Rowl...

Tamar Braxton sent WeTV bosses a letter saying they made her suicidal weeks ago – Page Six

Weeks before Tamar Braxton’s apparent attempt to take her own life, the singer-turned-reality-star sent an excoriating email to her network’s bosses, accusing them of destroying her family and making her “suicidal,” Page Six has learned. At the height of the unrest over the killing of George Floyd, WeTV execs sent an email to employees — including Braxton and her family, who have appeared on the network’s reality shows for more than a decade — outlining the company’s efforts to support the Black community. Braxton — who’s in a stable condition after apparently attempting suicide on Thursday night — responded with a message, seen by Page Six, explaining that her family is in “disarray.” “We fight with each other, we betray each other, and now we’re physically assaulting ea...
